Yes. There is a $100 consultation fee that is applied toward the total cost of your breast augmentation.
Dr. Vinyard values the time spent in consultation with each patient and the communication that occurs during your visit here. You can expect that he will spend quite a bit of time with you himself. Initially, you will be greeted with a smile by our receptionist who will offer you something to drink and provide you with the necessary paperwork to complete. You can now enter your own demographic information and medical health history at the convenience of your own home through our state-of-the-art SAFE Internet-based Patient Portal on our website.Then, you will be escorted upstairs to our new patient floor and into a consultation room. Once there, you will be oriented about your visit with us and escorted to the professional photography suite. There, you will have 2-D and 3-D photos taken. Next, our nurse or patient care coordinator will take your detailed health history. Once she has conveyed this information to Dr. Vinyard, he will then begin the breast augmentation consultation which will consist of a breast an analysis and conversation about your breast size and shape, a physical exam, and commence with a detailed discussion of your breast augmentation options. During the conversation with Dr. Vinyard, you will be able to see your 3-D image and not only communicate with him about your desires for breast augmentation, but visualize your projected surgical outcome. Every breast implant size and shape that is available is loaded into the Vectra X3 system so that we can simulate your anticipated outcome on your own body. This is not only helpful for you to be able to visualize what you will look like, but also is a very effective communication tool for you and Dr. Vinyard to get a clear picture of what you are looking for. Lastly, you will meet with the patient care coordinator who will explain your quote to you. This quote is designed based on the plan that you and Dr. Vinyard have decided upon together.
Please allow for approximately 1 to 1 ½ hours for your breast augmentation consultation with Dr. Vinyard. This is a vital part of your journey with us and can be considered time that you are dedicating to yourself.
Breast augmentation with Dr. Vinyard can be performed at our state-of-the-art in office Cosmetic Surgery Center, Marshall Medical Center North near Arab, Alabama, or Marshall Medical Center South Hospital in Boaz, Alabama depending on your desires.
Typically, Dr. Vinyard prefers general anesthesia when performing a breast augmentation.
Breast Augmentation usually requires one to two hours to complete the surgery. Dr. Vinyard utilizes breast implant sizers that help demonstrate the position of the permanent implant in the pocket, as well as, in determining the most proportionate size and profile for your body. The decision on implant size will be determined intra-operatively based on your desires expressed on the 3-deminsional imaging in your preoperative consultation. Although this takes some additional time, Dr. Vinyard believes it is the most accurate way to achieve your ultimate desires. It is well worth the additional time and effort to achieve the most attractive result.
Yes. It is very common to perform a breast augmentation along with other body procedures. This may include liposuction of problem areas such as the tummy or thighs and/or an abdominoplasty. When breast and body contouring procedures are performed during the same surgery, it is commonly called a "mommy makeover" and produces a dramatic transformation.
Yes. You can expect to go home the same day after your breast augmentation once you have completed a brief period in the recovery room. For your safety, you will need someone to drive you home and care for you in the following 24 hours.
After your breast augmentation, you will be able to stay in the comfort of your own homewith a responsible adult there with you.
Most patients are able to return to work after breast augmentation in approximately 3-7 days if their job is not physically demanding. You will be able to drive once you are no longer relying on pain medication to control your discomfort. You must avoid very heavy lifting for 6 weeks and will require help with certain activities during your recovery.
There usually is minimal bruising following breast augmentation. It should be greatly diminished after 1-2 weeks.
Swelling can last for up to 3 months after a breast augmentation, however, the majority of swelling resolves in the first month.
When can I expect to see the final result from my breast augmentation?
Dr. Vinyard likes to monitor the progress of all of his patients very closely. You will see us at the following intervals after breast augmentation: 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year. There is no additional fees associated with your follow up visits.
Once you have completed your breast augmentation consultation with Dr. Vinyard, you will leave the office with a written quote. It is ideal to wait until this point as there are many different options that are available with breast surgery and there are varying costs associated with those.
The cost of your breast augmentation includes: Dr. Vinyard's professional fee, Anesthesia fees, Facility fees, breast implants, breast implant sizers, surgical brassiere, Keller Funnel (if silicone gel breast implants desired) and all pre and post-operative visits.
Since a breast augmentation is considered a cosmetic surgery, all fees are due prior to the date of your procedure. Specifically, 50% of the total cost of your procedure is due 1 month prior to your procedure and the remaining 50% is due 2 weeks prior to your procedure. Therefore, you have paid in full 2 weeks prior to your procedure.
No. Breast augmentation is considered to be a cosmetic procedure and therefore is not covered by health insurance.
Yes. Our office participates with the CareCredit program. In addition, seeking advice from your local bank may also be an option for you. We accept the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. However, we do not directly finance procedures for our patients.
