A brow lift is a surgical procedure that can increase the distance between the eyebrows and the upper eyelashes. It will also smooth the forehead and eyebrow regions for a more relaxed and refreshed appearance. Dr. Vinyard has specialized training and equipment to perform a brow lift through a less invasive endoscopic approach. An endoscopic brow lift requires smaller incisions and less down time. A brow lift can help reposition the eyebrows after aging and gravity have caused them to descend downward on your forehead. Once the eyebrows have been repositioned, there is less skin weighing down on the upper eyelid. This will create a more rested appearance. Dr. Vinyard addresses primarily the lateral portion (outside) of the eyebrow. Focusing the treatment on the lateral part of the brow prevents the “surprised” appearance that can occur when the (medial) inner portion of the brow is released. It is helpful to review beauty magazines to pay close attention to the eyebrows of models that are considered examples of beauty. You will find it is the outer part of the eyebrow that is elevated to create the youthful arch and the inner portion remains lower. An endoscopic brow lift involves making very small incisions hidden behind the hair line. All of the manipulation of the tissue is performed through the visualization of the area with an endoscope and adjustment utilizing specialized surgical tools to treat the brow region. Dr. Vinyard can also perform a traditional brow lift should you require this type of approach instead. This requires an incision in the hair, above the hairline in a “head ban” shape, hidden from site. Despite which procedure you require, Dr. Vinyard will help you achieve a more youthfulappearance without making you look surprised.

How do I schedule a brow lift consultation with Dr. Vinyard?

Please contact our office at 256-571-VIPS (8477) and any of our team members will be happy to schedule an appointment at a time that is convenient for you.

Is there a brow lift consultation fee?

What can I expect in the brow lift consultation?

Dr. Vinyard values the time spent in consultation with each patient and the communication that occurs during your visit here. You can expect that he will spend quite a bit of time with you. Initially, you will be greeted with a smile by our receptionist who will offer you something to drink and provide you with the necessary paperwork to complete. You can now enter your own demographic information and medical health history at the convenience of your own home through our state-of-the-art SAFE internet-based Patient Portal on our website. Then, you will be escorted to your consultation room. Once there, you will be oriented about your visit with us and escorted to the professional photography suite. There, you will have 2-Demensional and 3-Demensional photos taken. Next, our nurse will review your detailed health history. Once she has conveyed this information to Dr. Vinyard, he will then begin the consultation which will consist of an analysis and conversation about your eyebrow position and facial structure, a physical exam, and commence with a detailed discussion of your options. During your conversation with Dr. Vinyard, you will be able to see your 3-D image and not only communicate with him about your desires, but also visualize your projected surgical outcome. Dr. Vinyard will explain his recommended treatment plan with you and answer all of your questions about the brow lift procedure. Lastly, you will meet with the patient care coordinator who will provide you with your quote for your brow lift and will assist you in obtaining financing if desired.

How long will my brow lift consultation last?

Please allow 1-1 ½ hours for your brow lift consultation. This is a vital part of your journey with us and can be considered time that you are dedicating to yourself.

Where will my brow lift be performed?

Dr. Vinyard has a state of the art surgical suite in his Cosmetic Surgery Center in Guntersville, Alabama and also has hospital privileges at both Marshall Medical Center North and Marshall Medical Center South hospitals. You may choose the facility that is most comfortable and convenient for you.

What type of anesthesia is required for my brow lift?

Dr. Vinyard requires general anesthesia for a brow lift procedure.

How long will my brow lift take?

If you are undergoing an endoscopic brow lift, the procedure will only take about 2 hours. Should you have a traditional brow lift, it will take closer to 2 ½- 3 hours. In addition, if you combine a brow lift with any other surgical procedures such as a lower eyelid lift or face lift, this will increase the total time for your procedure.

Can my brow lift be combined with other procedures?

Yes. A brow lift is commonly combined with other procedures such as a mini-face lift, face lift, upper and/or lower blepharoplasty (eyelid lift).

Is my brow lift considered an outpatient procedure?

Yes. You will go home the day of your brow lift unless you combine it with another procedure such as a face lift that requires an overnight stay in the hospital or overnight stay at a local hotel with our plastic surgery sitter.

Where will I stay the night after my brow lift?

You will go home the day of the procedure unless you combine your brow lift with another procedure such as a face lift that requires an overnight stay in the hospital or overnight stay at a local hotel with our plastic surgery sitter.

How long will it take to recover from my brow lift?

You will need to refrain from heavy lifting and activity for at least 4-6 weeks after your brow lift and you will want to avoid activities that increase your heart rate to prevent bleeding. You may resume light house work activities at 2- 3 weeks after your procedure. You may return to sedentary work at 7-10 days after your brow lift as long as you are no longer taking your prescription pain medicine. You may require concealer to cover any remaining bruising at this point. The time it takes you to return to the "public" following a brow lift depends upon your comfort level with others suspecting that you have undergone a cosmetic plastic surgery procedure.

How long can I expect the bruising last after my brow lift?

Bruising is usually minimal and can occur in the forehead and around the eyes following a brow lift. It resolves within 3 weeks for the majority of patients. At approximately 1 week- 10 days concealer should be able to completely mask the remaining bruising. We can suggest some options of concealers that work well to mask post-operative bruising during your post operative visits to the office.

How long can I expect the swelling to last after my brow lift?

The majority of the swelling following a brow lift will be gone in 3 weeks. You may have persistent swelling in the tissues that you personally perceive for up to 6 weeks. This amount is minimal and usually not noticed by others. You may notice a difference simply because you are studying your reflection in the mirror closely.

When can I expect to see the final result from my brow lift?

Six weeks after your brow lift, you will be very close to your final result. Three months post- operatively, your final results will be seen, but you will discover that the result continues to look even better at six months and one year post surgery. You will be provided with "before and after" photos at these post-operative office visits to compare the changes.

When do I follow up with Dr. Vinyard after my brow lift?

Dr. Vinyard likes to keep a close watch on his patients. You will see Dr. Vinyard the following day after your brow lift, at 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year post- operatively.

How much will my brow lift cost?

The total cost of your brow lift will be determined during your consultation with Dr. Vinyard. You may require either an endoscopic or traditional brow lift and it may be necessary to combine this with another procedure such as a lower or upper eyelid lift (blepharoplasty) or mini-face lift to achieve your desired result. Once you have finished your consultation with Dr. Vinyard, you will receive a detailed quote outlining the costs associated with the facial rejuvenation procedures.

What is included in the cost of my brow lift?

The cost of your brow lift includes Dr. Vinyard's professional fee, anesthesia, facility fee and any facial garments. Dr. Vinyard's professional fee includes the initial consultation, pre-operative visit and all post-operative visits associated with the brow lift.

When do I pay for my brow lift?

The total cost of your brow lift will be due 2 weeks prior to your brow lift and the first 50% will due 1 month in advance.

Will my insurance cover my brow lift?

Correction of facial aging around the eyes using a brow lift is considered an elective cosmetic procedure, and therefore not covered by insurance carriers.

Are there financing options available for my brow lift?
