It is common to lose facial tone and elasticity as you age. A facelift can help improve these signs of aging seen on your face and neck. A facelift is a surgical procedure that Dr. Vinyard performs to improve the most visible signs of aging by tightening deeper structures, re-draping the skin of the face and neck, and adding, removing or repositioning selected areas of fat to achieve a more youthful appearance. Facial rejuvenation products and surgical techniques have significantly improved in recent years. Dr. William J. Vinyard is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has completed advanced training in the latest approaches to help you regain your youthful appearance without making you appear “pulled” or surprised. Dr. Vinyardperforms a comprehensive facial evaluation during your consultation which includes the use of 3-dimensional imaging technology. This advanced technology is used to help tailor the appropriate plan to meet the specific needs of his patients. Dr. Vinyard will help turn back the clock so that you appear more rested and refreshed. There are multiple methods to achieve rejuvenation of the face and your individualized surgical plan will be decided during your consult. Depending upon your facial aging process and your specific areas of concern, Dr. Vinyard may recommend a cheek/neck lift (a.k.a. “facelift”), cheek lift (a.k.a. “mini- facelift”), neck lift, micro-liposuction of the jowls and/or submental region (area beneath the chin), fat injection to replace lost fat in specific areas of the face, or a combination of these procedures tailored to your specific needs to achieve your desired look.Photo Gallery

Face lifts vary in the length of time required to complete them depending upon your customized surgical plan. How long will it take to recover from my face lift?

Patients do not tend to report much pain after a face lift. However, most patients allow for approximately 2 weeks of "recovery". When you choose to return to public is according to your comfort level with the public "suspecting" that you have had a procedure. Most patients "return to the public" within 3 weeks of their surgery.

How long can I expect the bruising last after a face lift?

Bruising can persist for up to 3 weeks after your face lift, but you may have little bruising at all. However, by 7-10 days after surgery even the most colorful bruising can be concealed with some camouflaging concealer.

How long can I expect the swelling to last after a face lift?

The majority of the swelling decreases over the first 3 week period. However, some swelling persists for up to 6 weeks. Your first official "after photo" will be taken 3 months after your facelift. This is the point in which the swelling should be resolved.

When can I expect to see the final result from my face lift?

We take your first official "after photo" at 3 months after your face lift. This is because face lifts have the tendency to appear "over-corrected" initially because of the additional swelling that is present in the healing phase. However, gravity is working hard to descend the structures again. Therefore, the results continue to improve incrementally for up to one year post-operatively.

When do I follow up with Dr. Vinyard after my face lift?

Dr. Vinyard likes to keep a close watch over his face lift patients. You will see him the night of the surgery and the morning after. Your follow-up appointments in the office after your faceliftwill be scheduled for1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year.

How much will a facelift cost?

Just as every face is unique, so are the different types of surgeries that can be employed to help correct patient concerns. You will be given a written quote at the end of your consultation that will detail the associated costs. A face lift may be performed in conjunction with other facial rejuvenation procedures such as micro-liposuction of the jowls and sub-mental region (area below the chin), eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), facial fat injection to increase facial volume, and/or an endoscopic brow lift making each quote very different depending upon your needs.

Since a face lift is a cosmetic procedure, the total cost of the procedure is due in full 2 weeks in advance. 50% of the total cost of the procedure is due 1 month prior to your surgery.

Will my insurance cover my face lift?

Facial rejuvenation procedures are considered elective, and therefore not covered by insurance carriers.
