Dr. Vinyard values the time spent in consultation with each patient and the communication that occurs during your visit here. You can expect that he will spend quite a bit of time with you. Once there, you will be oriented about your visit with us and escorted to the professional photography suite. There, you will have 2-Demensional and 3-Demensional photos taken. Next, our nurse will review your detailed health history. Once she has conveyed this information to Dr. Vinyard, he will then begin the consultation which will consist of an analysis and conversation about your facial aging process and facial structure, a physical exam, and commence with a detailed discussion of your options. Face lifts vary in the length of time required to complete them depending upon your customized surgical plan. From a mini-facelift alone to a full face lift with upper and lower eyelid surgery, micro-liposuction of the neck and jowls with fat injection to the face where appropriate, the time can range from 3 ½ to 7 hours.
Yes. It is very common to combine a face lift with eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), micro-liposuction of the neck and/or jowls, and/or anendoscopic brow lift. Dr. Vinyard will help you navigate through the process of deciding what combination of procedures will work best for you.

Dr. Vinyard will visit and check on you the night of your surgery and the following morning before you check out.

Patients do not tend to report much pain after a face lift. However, most patients allow for approximately 2 weeks of "recovery". When you choose to return to public is according to your comfort level with the public "suspecting" that you have had a procedure. Most patients "return to the public" within 3 weeks of their surgery.
Bruising can persist for up to 3 weeks after your face lift, but you may have little bruising at all. However, by 7-10 days after surgery even the most colorful bruising can be concealed with some camouflaging concealer.
The majority of the swelling decreases over the first 3 week period. However, some swelling persists for up to 6 weeks. Your first official "after photo" will be taken 3 months after your facelift. This is the point in which the swelling should be resolved.
We take your first official "after photo" at 3 months after your face lift. This is because face lifts have the tendency to appear "over-corrected" initially because of the additional swelling that is present in the healing phase. However, gravity is working hard to descend the structures again. Therefore, the results continue to improve incrementally for up to one year post-operatively.
Dr. Vinyard likes to keep a close watch over his face lift patients. You will see him the night of the surgery and the morning after. Your follow-up appointments in the office after your faceliftwill be scheduled for1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year.
Just as every face is unique, so are the different types of surgeries that can be employed to help correct patient concerns. You will be given a written quote at the end of your consultation that will detail the associated costs. A face lift may be performed in conjunction with other facial rejuvenation procedures such as micro-liposuction of the jowls and sub-mental region (area below the chin), eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), facial fat injection to increase facial volume, and/or an endoscopic brow lift making each quote very different depending upon your needs.
The quote for your facial rejuvenationwill listDr. Vinyard's professional fee, anesthesia fee, facility fee, and a facial garment. Dr. Vinyard's professional fee includes your initial consultation fee, your pre-op visit and all follow up visits related to your facial rejuvenation procedure.
Since a face lift is a cosmetic procedure, the total cost of the procedure is due in full 2 weeks in advance. 50% of the total cost of the procedure is due 1 month prior to your surgery.
Facial rejuvenation procedures are considered elective, and therefore not covered by insurance carriers.
