Dr. Vinyard can customize rhinoplasty surgery to meet your specific needs. Rhinoplasty is an outpatient surgical procedure that can alter the structure and appearance of the nose by reducing a dorsal hump, altering the shape and projection of the tip, changing the width of the nostrils, or by changing the angle between the nose and upper lip. Rhinoplasty can also be performed to help correct nasal injuries and birth defects. Nose reshaping procedures can involve treating one or multiple parts of your nose depending upon its shape. Results can range from a small refinement of the nasal shape to a dramatic change in facial appearance depending upon your specific needs and desires. In some cases, it can be combined with other facial procedures such as a chin implant and/or micro-liposuction of the submental region (underneath the chin) to provide more balance to the face. Dr. Vinyard will employ the use of the Vectra X3 3-D camera as a communication tool during your consult while he is analyzing your nasal structure, as well as, create a 3D image of your projected surgical outcome. This will help you understand and visualize the end result after surgery.Photo Gallery

Is there a consultation fee for nasal reshaping?

Yes. There is a $100 consultation fee that will be applied to the cost of your rhinoplasty procedure. During your consultation, you will receive Dr. Vinyard's undivided attention as he creates a plan of care specific to your needs and desires.

What can I expect in the rhinoplasty consultation?

Dr. Vinyard values the time spent in consultation with each patient and the communication that occurs during your visit here. You can expect that he will spend quite a bit of time with you. Initially, you will be greeted with a smile by our receptionist who will offer you something to drink and provide you with the necessary paperwork to complete. You can now enter your own demographic information and medical health history at the convenience of your own home through our state-of-the-art SAFE Internet-based Patient Portal on our website. Then, you will be escorted to your consultation room. Once there, you will be oriented about your visit with us and escorted to the professional photography suite. Once she has conveyed this information to Dr. Vinyard, he will then begin the consultation which will consist of a facial and nasal analysis and a conversation about your facial structure, a physical exam, and commence with a detailed discussion of your options. During your conversation with Dr. Vinyard, you will be able to see your 3-D image and not only communicate with him about your desires, but also visualize your projected surgical outcome. Dr. Vinyard will explain his recommended treatment plan with you and answer all of your questions regarding rhinoplasty. Lastly, you will meet with the patient care coordinator who will provide you with your quote for your rhinoplasty and will assist you in obtaining financing if desired.

Depending upon the type of procedure that Dr. Vinyard recommends for you, your rhinoplasty procedure can last from 1 ½ to 3 ½ hours. He will be able to advise you on the length of surgery at the end of your consultation once he has decided what will be necessary to achieve the look that you desire.

How long will it take to recover from my rhinoplasty?

Recovery from a rhinoplasty varies from person to person. You will experience some discomfort, swelling and bruising during the first couple weeks after surgery. You will be required to avoid strenuous activity and heavy lifting for about 2-3 weeks. You may return to normal activities within 4-6 weeks.

How long can I expect the bruising last after my rhinoplasty?

Bruising after a rhinoplasty usually lasts 10-14 days but can persist for up to 3 weeks. You may experience some bruising underneath the eyes as well. One week after your rhinoplasty, most of the bruising can be covered with a camouflaging concealer. We can recommend some brands of concealer during your post- operative visits that are effective with the type of coverage needed.

How long can I expect the swelling to last after my rhinoplasty?

Swelling or edema after a rhinoplasty tends to persist in the nose for quite some time, and resolution of swelling in the tip occurs last. The majority of the swelling with diminish by 1 month after your procedure. This swelling is noticed much more by the patient than others (such as friends or family) because you are closely observing your nose on a daily basis in the mirror. You may notice subtle changes in the appearance of the nose during the first year after your rhinoplasty.

When can I expect to see the final result after my rhinoplasty?

The final result can be seen at 1 year after rhinoplasty surgery with it being very close to the final result at 3 months. The nose continues to change throughout your lifespan regardless of whether it has been surgically altered or not.

How much will my rhinoplasty cost?

Just as every nose is different, so are the different types of surgeries that can be employed to help correct patient concerns. It will depend upon the extent of correction that you require and the time associated with that. You will be given a written quote at the end of your consultation that will detail the associated costs.

Will my insurance cover my rhinoplasty?

A rhinoplasty is considered a cosmetic procedure. Occasionally, you may have a functional problem involving your nose in which you have an irregularly shaped septum or an enlarged turbinate which causes difficulty breathing. In some cases an insurance company will provide coverage for this portion of the procedure called a septoplasty, but it would require a pre-authorization from your insurance company.

Are there financing options available for my rhinoplasty?

Yes. Our practice participates with CareCredit. However, we do not directly finance any procedures. You may also want to research options through your bank of choice. We also accept all major credit cards including VISA, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express.
