Juvederm Voluma XC injectable gel is a smooth hyaluronic acid (HA) gel which contains a small quantity of local anesthetic (lidocaine). HA is a normally occurring sugar found in the human body. The function of HA in the skin is to provide nutrients and help the skin keep its all-natural dampness and softness. The enhancement of lidocaine assists to boost the convenience of the shot by ensuring that you feel as little pain as possible. Voluma XC is delivered by an injection to the face to correct firmness and volume.

What Is Voluma XC For?

Juvederm Voluma XC is intended to correct age-related volume loss in the face, specifically to reduce wrinkles and improve the appearance of the cheeks. As you age, the cheek area sheds its vibrant shape, sagging and sinking over the years, increasing the deepness of the wrinkles along the mouth, eyes, and nose. The cheek eventually begins to droop. Juvederm Voluma XC temporarily reverses these natural signs of aging. The gel is injected directly into the cheek to raise and smoothly contour the skin to make the patient appear more youthful and vibrant.

What Are The Benefits of Voluma XC?

The injections will temporarily deal with volume-loss in the cheeks and cheek area that has been lost due to aging. It will provide a smoother shape and more youthful appearance to the face.

Is Voluma risk-free and FDA-approved?

In 2013, the FDA approved Voluma XC for the correction of age-related volume loss in the cheeks of adults. Most side-effects were mild and consisted of normal reactions to injections such as minimal swelling, firmness, and discoloration. The study also found that most negative effects resolved without treatment.

Who Should NOT Receive Juvederm Voluma XC Injections?

Juvederm Voluma XC is perfect for individuals who are at least 21 years old and in reasonably good health. It's ideal for those who desire to boost the appearance of their cheeks and restore the volume that has been lost in their face due to natural aging. We don't advise dermal fillers for those that have experienced any sort of allergy relating to a cosmetic treatment in the past. Women who are expecting or nursing should also not undergo the filler treatment.

What Takes Place During The Treatment?

After the initial injection into the cheek, your surgeon will wait a few seconds to permit the lidocaine to kick in before moving on with the rest of the treatment injections. Small amounts will be injected into the treatment location until the desired aesthetic result is achieved. Your surgeon may massage the treatment area gently to ensure that the product is equally dispersed into the skin of the surrounding area. An ice pack may be applied for a short period during the treatment in order to minimize swelling and discomfort.

Do The Injections Hurt?

The injection shots might trigger some mild pain immediately, during, or right after the procedure even though Voluma XC injectable gel consists of lidocaine to minimize shot site pain. Your surgeon may anesthetize the treatment area with a topical or infused numbing gel to lessen discomfort even further. Juvederm Voluma XC is a comfortable procedure with immediate results.

What Happens After The Voluma XC Treatment?

What Side-Effects Should You Expect?

The primary negative effects are inflammation, swelling, and firmness at the site of the injections, as well as lumps or bumps. These side effects usually last 7-10 days. Within the initial 24 hours, you need to minimize arduous exercise and exposure to substantial sunlight or warmth. Failing to avoid these hazards will increase soreness, swelling, and/or itching at the injection site. If there is swelling despite your best efforts to avoid the sun and heat, an ice pack may help to calm down the skin back down.

Will You Need Follow-Up Treatments?

Roughly 82% of patients receive a touch-up therapy 1 month after their first treatment in order to attain their desired results. The results from the injections last up to 2 years. After this, regular injections are required to maintain your ideal results.

How Long Will You Need To Take Downtime?

There is little to no necessary downtime following a Juvederm Voluma XC treatment. Lots of customers go back to their day-to-day activities right after their appointment. It is advised that you stay clear of exhausting workouts. You are also encouraged to stay out of the sunlight and intense heat. It's normal to see a bit of soreness, bruising, or swelling at the shot site. These side effects are short-term and will disappear quickly, often within a few hours or days at the most.

What Results Should You Expect Immediately After Your Voluma XC Injections?

You should see noticeable adjustments from your Juvederm Voluma XC shots immediately after the injections take place. Most clients are thrilled with how much progress they see just minutes after their injections. However, there will likely be some swelling and bruising right after the treatment, so don’t expect to see perfect, flawless results while in the office right at the conclusion of the treatment. A few days later, you’ll be basking in the gorgeous skin you see in your bathroom mirror!

What Results Should You Expect A Week After Your Voluma XC Injections?

In the 2-3 weeks after the injections, your facial fillers will settle in and you will see the full results. You are recommended to return for a follow-up analysis visit to guarantee your outcomes are as you expected. While facial fillers are short-lived, Voluma has the highest durability, lasting nearly 2 years. Quite an impressive track record!
