Why Do GLP-1 Programs Vary So Much in Price?

Many people notice a wide range of pricing when researching GLP-1 weight loss programs. That’s because cost isn’t just about the medication name — it reflects medication quality, medical oversight, and the level of support included.

GLP-1 medications are sensitive, meaning even small differences in formulation or dosing can affect how your body responds. Lower-priced programs often reduce cost by offering minimal supervision, inconsistent formulations, or little guidance beyond the prescription itself. Over time, that can lead to uneven appetite control, increased side effects, stalled progress, or weight regain.

Our program uses GMP-certified U.S. compounding pharmacies, and medication ships directly from the pharmacy to you, helping ensure consistent dosing and predictable results. Many patients experience better tolerability, steadier appetite control, and more reliable progress.

In addition, our patients receive ongoing medical supervision from a licensed Physician Assistant, not just a one-time prescription. For local patients, we also incorporate ShapeScale 3D body imaging to monitor body shape and composition — not just weight — allowing us to identify early muscle loss or changes before progress stalls.

Our pricing reflects medication quality, medical guidance, and a structure designed to protect your results long-term.

Why Isn’t This a Medication-Only GLP-1 Program?

One of the most common frustrations people have with GLP-1 medications is weight regain after stopping the medication.

In most cases, regain doesn’t happen because the medication didn’t work — it happens because once appetite control is gone, habits haven’t changed yet. Many programs focus solely on prescribing GLP-1s without addressing what happens afterward.

Our approach uses the period of appetite control to help patients:

  • Build sustainable nutrition habits
  • Protect lean muscle mass
  • Establish consistent movement
  • Create a new normal around food and behavior

This helps ensure that when medication is reduced or discontinued, patients aren’t starting over.
The medication opens the door — the system is what helps the results last.

Why Do You Use ShapeScale Instead of InBody Alone?

InBody scans provide helpful body composition data, but they don’t always reflect how your body is changing visually.

ShapeScale uses advanced 3D imaging to track body shape, circumference, and volume changes over time — the changes patients notice in their clothes and in the mirror. In GLP-1 programs, two people can lose the same amount of weight but look very different depending on muscle preservation and fat distribution.

ShapeScale helps us manage how weight is lost, not just how much — and allows for early adjustments before progress stalls.

Do I Have to Stay on GLP-1 Medication Forever?

No. Our program is not designed for lifelong medication use.
From the beginning, we plan for success with or without medication. While GLP-1s help regulate appetite, our focus is on building habits, protecting muscle, and supporting metabolism so patients have a clear path forward when medication is reduced or stopped.

The goal is confidence and control — not dependency.

What About GLP-1 Side Effects?

Side effects are a common concern, and many are manageable or preventable. Symptoms such as nausea, fatigue, headaches, or low energy often result from under-eating, poor meal timing, low protein intake, dehydration, or sudden changes in activity — not the medication alone.

That’s why our program includes nutrition and exercise guidance designed to reduce side effects, support energy, and protect muscle while weight loss occurs. With medical supervision, most patients experience minimal side effects, and adjustments can always be made.

What medications do you use?

We offer compounded Semaglutide and Tirzepatide, which are in the same class of medications as Ozempic® and Mounjaro®. Our formulations are compounded with Glycine, which helps improve tolerability, reduce common side effects, and support overall effectiveness during weight loss.

What’s the difference between Semaglutide and Tirzepatide?

Both medications help regulate appetite and blood sugar. Tirzepatide works on two metabolic pathways instead of one, which means some patients experience faster or more significant results. During your consultation, our Physician Assistant, Liz, will review your medical history and goals to recommend the best option for you.

How often will I need to check in with the VIPS team?

Check-ins are typically scheduled every four to six weeks, depending on your individual plan and progress. These appointments allow our medical provider to monitor results, address side effects, and make thoughtful adjustments to your treatment plan as needed. Ongoing check-ins are a key part of our program and ensure your care remains personalized, responsive, and focused on long-term success.

How long will I need to stay on the medication?

There is no one-size-fits-all timeline. Some patients benefit from several months of consistent use, while others continue longer depending on their goals and progress. Our goal is not lifelong medication use. From the beginning, we focus on helping you reach a healthy weight and maintain it by building sustainable habits, protecting muscle, and supporting metabolism — so you have a clear path forward if and when medication is reduced or discontinued.

What is included in the VIPS Medical Weight Loss Program?

Our program is designed to support safe, effective, and lasting weight loss, not just appetite suppression. It includes:

  • Physician-supervised GLP-1 therapy using compounded Semaglutide or Tirzepatide
  • Ongoing medical guidance from a licensed Physician Assistant
  • Nutrition guidance to reduce side effects, protect muscle, and support sustainable eating
  • Exercise guidance with realistic, low-impact movement strategies
  • Behavioral modification tools to address stress, emotional eating, and long-term habit change
  • Clear injection instructions for safe, confident medication use
  • ShapeScale 3D body imaging for local patients to track body shape and composition beyond the scale
This structure is what helps our patients achieve results — and keep them.

Do you offer virtual consultations for patients outside the area?

Yes. While our medical weight loss program is available only to Florida residents, you do not need to live locally to participate.

  • Patients anywhere in Florida can complete virtual consultations
  • Receive medication shipped directly to their home
  • Benefit from ongoing medical supervision, nutrition guidance, exercise support, and behavioral tools
ShapeScale scans are completed in person and are available to patients located in or near Port St. Lucie and the Treasure Coast.

Are there any contracts or long-term commitments?

No. The VIPS Medical Weight Loss Program is month-to-month, allowing you to pause or cancel at any time.

How is the medication administered?

The medication is taken as a once-weekly injection, similar to an insulin shot. You’ll receive clear, step-by-step instructions and support so you feel comfortable and confident administering it.

Can I use insurance or HSA/FSA?

We do not bill insurance directly. However, you are welcome to try using your HSA or FSA card during checkout.

What happens if I experience side effects from the medication?

Some patients experience mild side effects, such as nausea, fatigue, or digestive changes, especially early in treatment. In many cases, these symptoms are related to under-eating, poor meal timing, dehydration, or low protein intake, rather than the medication itself. That’s why our program includes nutrition and exercise guidance designed to minimize side effects and support energy levels. If side effects occur, our team can adjust dosing, review nutrition strategies, or schedule additional check-ins to keep you comfortable and on track. You are medically supervised throughout the program, and support is always available.

Are GLP-1 medications safe?

GLP-1 medications, such as Semaglutide and Tirzepatide, have been extensively studied and are considered safe when prescribed and monitored by a qualified medical provider. At VIPS, your progress is closely overseen by a licensed Physician Assistant, with dosing and guidance adjusted as needed to prioritize safety, tolerability, and results.

How do I know the medications are high quality?

We use compounded GLP-1 medications sourced from GMP-certified U.S. compounding pharmacies that follow strict standards for ingredient quality, formulation, and dose consistency. Your medication ships directly from the pharmacy to you, reducing handling and helping ensure each dose is consistent and reliable. This consistency supports better tolerability, steadier appetite control, and more predictable results.

Do I have to stay on GLP-1 medication forever?

No. Our program is not designed for lifelong medication use. From the beginning, we plan for success with or without medication by building habits, protecting muscle, and supporting metabolism while appetite is controlled. When medication is reduced or stopped, there is a clear path forward — not dependency.

Do I have to be local to use ShapeScale?

Yes. ShapeScale 3D body imaging is completed in person and is available to patients located in or near Port St. Lucie and the Treasure Coast. ShapeScale allows us to track body shape, circumference, and composition — not just weight — helping us identify early muscle loss or subtle shifts before progress stalls. Patients outside the local area still receive full medical supervision, medication, and lifestyle support without ShapeScale.

Can I have cosmetic surgery while on GLP-1 therapy?

Yes, though timing is important. In some cases, achieving a stable weight before surgery can help optimize aesthetic outcomes and surgical planning. We encourage patients to discuss their goals with Dr. Vinyard and our team so we can coordinate weight loss treatment and surgical planning appropriately and safely.

Who is eligible for the VIPS Medical Weight Loss Program?
