Are you a mother and find that you cross your legs when you sneeze, are scared of jumping, or are constantly anxious about embarrassing accidents? In that case, you may be dealing with Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI). If you think that you’re the only one who experiences such unpleasant moments, we’re here to tell you that you’re not alone – SUI is a very common condition, and about 1 in 3 women experience some level of SUI at some point in their lives.

Without question, you’ve been looking for an easy way to rid yourself of SUI, and we’re here to help you. What if we told you that there’s a revolutionary non-surgical treatment capable of minimizing SUI symptoms by reducing laxity and restoring elasticity and firmness in the vaginal area?

For a few years now, women are discovering the wonderful benefits of the VOTIVA FORMA V device, which brings noticeable improvements to the vaginal area. However, how many treatments can boast benefits in addition to their main purpose? We will dedicate today’s blog to Stress Urinary Incontinence and how FORMA V can make unwanted accidents a thing of the past.

What is Stress Urinary Incontinence and What Causes It?

Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) is when urine leaks as a result of sudden pressure on the bladder and urethra, causing the sphincter muscles to open briefly. With mild SUI, pressure may be from sudden forceful activities, such as exercise, sneezing, laughing, or coughing. In more severe cases of SUI, leakage can be caused by mild activities including, but not limited to, standing, walking, or bending over. While more advanced cases may require a more rigorous and surgical intervention, more mild cases can be treated with non-surgical methods with minimal downtimes, such as FORMA V. There are many causes for SUI, and they include pregnancy, being overweight, smoking, chronic coughing, nerve injuries to the lower back, and pelvic surgery. Whatever the cause, FORMA V can be an effective solution for many cases of SUI.

How Can FORMA V Reverse Stress Urinary Incontinence?

FORMA V was a long-expected addition to the non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation field, following in the footsteps of other radiofrequency-based devices. During the treatment, appropriate heat levels are applied to the vaginal canal and the external labia, acting as a stimulus to the vaginal tissue and the collagen and elastin production in this area.

This, in turn, increases the support of the pelvic floor, which has been associated with improvement in mild to moderate stress urinary incontinence some women experience after childbirth, age, or other reasons.

How Is The Procedure Performed?

The treatment usually lasts a mere 35 minutes. The device emits targeted radiofrequency waves to the vaginal tissue. As the heat is being delivered, the device monitors and controls heat levels, preventing any tissue burns. Patients generally do not experience much discomfort during the treatment and can return to their normal activities right away, although waiting a few days before engaging in sexual intercourse is generally encouraged to allow the body to adjust.

Additional Benefit of FORMA V – Increased Lubrication

FORMA V, a versatile tool used for many different vaginal procedures, directs radiofrequency energy to the vulvar tissue, which stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. Increased collagen and elastin production tightens and constricts the vaginal walls, increasing sensation.

Furthermore, heat stimulates increased blood flow to the vaginal canal — a process called angiogenesis. This increased blood supply, coupled with increased collagen and elastin production, can improve most women’s dryness issues by increasing lubrication. Furthermore, it promotes the health of the muscles and tissue, which increases elasticity and prevents injury.

Many post-menopausal women struggle with vaginal dryness and maybe trying other measures such as lubrication, vaginal suppositories, or oral medications, but are left disappointed at the lack of success and burdened with side effects. FORMA V is consistently effective and can produce lasting results.

This procedure can increase sensation while decreasing pain, allowing intercourse to be more comfortable. Make sure to discuss any concerns with your Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon during your consultation, and see if FORMA V is the solution for you.
